Confocal
Live
confocal movie demonstrating the conversion of healthy
mature adult leukocytes to a stem cell stage following
initiation of the retrodifferentiation process. The movie
duration is 12 hours with a clip taken every 3 minutes.
This movie demonstrates
the loss of mature marker, CD19, on differentiated cells
(stained green). Upon induction of the process of
retrodifferentiation, the green stain disappears from the
surface of the cell and the haematopoietic stem cell marker,
CD34 (red stained), progressively increases on the surface
of the cells; the hallmark of reverting back to a stem cell
stage.
Cardiac
Real-Time movie demonstrating beating cardiomyocytes
exhibiting spontaneous contraction and elongation. The
contraction of cardiomyocytes
is often synchronous among small groups of cells visible
within the microscopic field and, with simultaneous rotation
and contraction of the cells, a ‘torsional’ contractile
appearance can be observed.
